I have taken up the hobby of keeping fish. I bought an aquarium kit, a stand, gravel, plastic plants, a castle, a few rocks etc. I bought fish food, chemicals, water test kits, skimmers, and a siphon pump/vacuum.
Then I bought some fish.
I added the fish a few at time.
Cool, I thought.
Very therapeutic.
Very calming.
Then I made a mistake, a big mistake.
I googled Fresh water fish, aquarium, etc.
Oh no, I am doing it all wrong!
I am going to kill the fish.
As I started reading all the pertinent freshwater fish/aquarium websites I was confronted with conflicting views on just about everything.
How much water to change and how often?
How much and how often should I feed the fish?
What food/equipment/test kit is the best?
The more questions I had the more “answers” I found.
Everyone spoke emphatically. Their way was the right way.
Who is right? Who is wrong?
How do I decide?
Every website had their own fish truth.
Reminded me of another fish group I know.
